Qualifying as a nurse at 18, Helen has 42 years’ NHS experience including several years as Chief Executive and Executive Director. She managed substantial change and capital programmes in the public, private and voluntary healthcare sectors in the UK and abroad.
Helen is the chair of several mental health, equality and human rights charities and foundations. As a qualified mountain leader, she spends her time on the Lake District fells, teaching survival skills.
